Important Information from Nurse Amanda
If you have a child starting Kindergarten (2016-2017), please be sure to check with their primary physician to make sure they are up to date on all immunizations. Typically, children of this age need one additional dose of each of the following: Dtap, Polio, MMR, and Varicella.
The following changes for the 2016-2017 school year have been made regarding school immunization requirements for 8th and 12th grade students:
- Grade 8: One dose of MCV is required, in addition to the one dose of Tdap
- Grade 12: Two doses of MCV is required unless the first dose was administered to a student who was 16 years of age or older, in which case only one dose is required
(For your convenience, the Camden County Health Department will be at Open House on August 16, 2016 to administer these vaccinations. Please bring your child’s insurance card and updated shot record.)
Students not meeting immunization guidelines will be excluded from school until an updated record is on file.
